2D and 3D CNC WIRE BENDING AND TUBE BENDING

Huiting Machinery has been providing small diameter 2D/3D CNC wire & tube bending machines since 2000. It soon became evident that a new underserved market opportunity had been discovered.  

Market demand inspired the development of proficiency in bending new materials, custom tooling and proprietary software. Huiting Machinery continued to expand their proficiencies in 2D and 3D wire & tube bending machines and has become a premier provider to the automotive, medical device, refrigerating and other wire form market.

Many wire components made from wire stock begin their processing in with our CNC wire bending machines. Required features for this type of a medical device component can include special turned diameters, milled flats, slots, grooves, knurling, cross-holes or axial holes. CNC machining can provide these types of features prior to the CNC 3D wire bending operation. At Huiting Machinery, this manufacturing technology can be used to craft custom 2D and 3D shapes in wire diameters ranging from .042 to .56 inches. Our CNC wire bending capabilities are compatible with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, titanium and many other metals—and support component lengths of 2.75 to 100 inches.

Medical device components made from tubing, which later require bending, often begin their processing in a CNC Laser Cutting Machine. CNC laser machining is a very precise method for cutting features through the wire prior to the CNC 3D bending process. CNC bending uses the same powerful bending technology to fashion metal wire into specific shapes. Huiting Machinery Manufacturing offers custom 2D and 3D bending for wires from .042 to .56 inches—allowing many features and configurations to be designed into these specialized components. Experienced in working with a variety of materials such as L605, MP35N, stainless steel with component lengths from 3.75 to 100 inches.

WHAT IS CNC BENDING?

Computer numerically controlled (CNC) bending is a unique manufacturing process that uses a robotic arm to push wire or tube through a series of servo-driven rollers to bend and form materials into specific configurations. HOW DOES A BENDING MACHINE WORK?

Parts are staged for bending in the machine’s stock magazine. This section is capable of holding hundreds of parts—and uses a special mechanism called a ‘piece separator’, to stage the next part for bending. A sensing device is used to ensure that part features such as a machined flat, a slot, or drilled cross-hole are oriented to a specific position related to the bend.

Huiting Machinery CNC bending machine uses two main bending modes: freeform bending and rotary draw.

Freeform bending pushes the product through 3 rollers, which put pressure on the sides of the part to create the desired curves. These rollers can be used to create a variety of complex 3D shapes as well, including helixes and curls. Rotary draw bending pulls the product around a second mandrel to achieve the desired bend. When required, these two forms of bending can be used together to process a single part.
